This Diwali, many Indians will add more inches to their existing TV screens, and get more inches for every rupee they pay than before. For instance, last year, for Rs 57,900 you’d get a 32-inch 3D Sony Bravia, while this year you’ll get a 40-inch one. While TVs that are smaller than 40 inches have become cheaper by roughly 12.5 percent in the past two years, those in the premium categories—like 3D and smart TVs—have become cheaper by roughly 30 percent to 49 percent.
